By decision of the Director of the National Centre for Research and Development, the project entitled "Twin shrouded rotor for a small aerial vehicle" (acronym: NUTRIA) received a funding of PLN 1,500,000 under the LIDER programme.

The project manager is Michał Lipian, PhD, from the Institute of Turbomachinery, TUL.

The objective of the NUTRIA project is to create and test a concept of a twin-rotor ducted propeller for a small aerial vehicle. This kind of device operates in urban environment, hence the need to preserve high efficiency and low noise emission. The project involves aerodynamic and aeroacoustic studies and optimization; this will ensure the high competitiveness in relation to the existing solutions. The project will be realized by the aerodynamic team of the IMP TUL. The will to cooperate was also forwarded by htw saar (Germany) ant TU Sofia (Bulgaria).

Project duration: 01.01.2021-31.12.2023.
